PARADE ROUTE Other Points of Interest: Visit the Franklin Creek State Park. Hiking, picnicking, play grounds, equestrian trails, fishing, Cement handicap trail to natural springs and much more. Photograph the wild life, relax and bird watch. The park has hundreds of acres of pristine wilderness to enjoy. Fall colors pop from the huge variety of trees. See it now or come and visit us another time. For more activity see the Nachusa Grasslands. Observe Illinois prairie as it was before man settled it. Enjoy seeing beautiful grasses, trees and flowers. Visit the headquarters on Lowden road located in a large barn. They harvest prairie seeds and collect them for replanting. You are welcome to hike through the lush grass. Observe birds and wild life in its natural habitat. In the fall the area looks like it was painted by the creators brush from a palette of many colors.
